Google Gears is now a mobile platform.
So is Microsoft's competitive Silverlight platform. But it doesn't work when it's offline - which can be trouble if your cell company drops the occasional call.
Yahoo's also getting in on the action, announcing (but not yet launching) a mobile app called OnePlace. It's been described as MyYahoo for Mobile - but it sounds more like an RSS-reading bookmarking thingie.
And now the greatest mobile app of all - an emissions-free Morgan car (no relation).
