Google and Yahoo are teaming up with MySpace to create the
Open Social Foundation. The foundation will make sure the
Open Social Initiative stays neutral, open source, and funded for years to come. One company
not joining them is Facbook. Which is ironic, since they kicked off hte app fad.
...and maybe they'll get applications from some of the folks who just got
laid off from CNet.
The Chinese government is
using pictures from Yahoo to find people that took part in the Tibetan protests earlier this month. The
Free Tibet campaign is urging Yahoo users to cancel their accounts.
Google wants their investors to
vote "no" on
proposals relating to human rights and internet censorship. They recommended this to investors
last year too...
...and it turns out when you work for Google, there IS such a thing as a
free lunch.
