The Wall Street Journal says a Japanese launch for the iPhone is essential for Apple to ship ten million iPhones by the end of next year. Reuters reports that Apple's strict demands have made talks with Japan's top carrier, DoCoMo, rocky. But it could mean that the hotly-awaited 3G iPhone will ship soon, because as Engadget points out, 3G is the only option on DoCoMo's network.
